New York rooftops: opening times, best slots, and skyline timing

Final admissions are usually set before full closing time, and evening slots can sell out early, so never assume you can walk in late without a reservation.

Early morning offers clearer lines and softer crowd levels, while golden hour and early night provide the most dramatic skyline color transitions.

Advance booking is highly recommended for weekends, holiday periods, and sunset windows when demand peaks quickly.

General city passes and transport cards do not automatically include every rooftop venue, so always check exactly what your pass covers.
